Fox5 News Coverage of the 2017 Skateboard Marathon

This is the 7th annual Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon, a 26.2 mile skateboard race to promote health, fitness, action sports and raise awareness and funds for Summit for Stem Cell to fight Parkinson’s disease.

The event took place Nov 11th (Veteran’s Day) as early as 6:30am in Fiesta Island, Mission Bay. Longboarders traveled to San Diego from all over the world and different parts of the US. Places like Argentina, Singapore, France, Canada, Sweden, NYC, Chicago, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Arizona.

The Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon consists of six laps around Fiesta Island in Mission Bay, with the top winners sharing a $1000 Prize Purse and product giveaways from the greatest and latest in the skate industry. There is also an SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Division and a One-Lap Race for kids and beginners.

There’s a 3:00 hour time limit to complete the 26.2 mile race and everyone finished in time.

1st Place – Alyssa Monteiro – Chicago IL
2nd Place – Hopemarie Jackson – Everett WA
3rd Place – Kira Sterling – Palo Alto, CA

2017 Overall Men Open Division Results: (these guys came in at the finish line within a second of each other)

1st Place – Kiefer Dixon
2nd Place – Kyle Yan
3rd Place – Eric Palmer
4th Place – Colby Cunnings
